Eligibility
To be eligible for this scholarship, you must have accepted an offer of a full time place on a Masters in the School of Media, Arts and Humanities to start in September 2026.
You must also have — or expect to achieve — a First Class Honours or 2:1 degree from a UK university or an equivalent degree from an overseas institution.
The is committed to providing opportunities for students and academics, pursuing themes resonant with the work of Professor Stuart Hall and that of the Foundation.
Acutely aware of the obstacles to achievement in higher education faced by young people from culturally diverse and disadvantaged backgrounds – evidenced by admissions data and the lack of diversity among academic staff – the Foundation works in partnership with universities in the UK and internationally to continue Professor Stuart Hall’s lifelong commitment to teaching.
The deadline to apply is 1 July 2026. All applicants will recieve a decision by the end of August 2026. The payment will be made in October 2026.
Terms and conditions
This scholarship is awarded as a tuition fee discount, no cash equivalent is available. This scholarship is available for the 2026/27 academic year only, if a scholar defers or temporarily withdraws from their course, they will no longer be eligible to receive the scholarship.
As this is funded by a philanthropic donation, it is possible to combine this with other ¹ú²úÄÚÉä scholarships (e.g. Sussex Alumni Scholarship or Country Scholarships).
