On this module, you’ll explore core theory and issues involved in developing an idea into a new business. This includes issues in:
- strategy
- operation
- human capital
- finance.
Through this, you’ll develop your judgement on which business ideas have competitive advantage. You’ll also gain a clear understanding of the numbers related to successfully growing an idea into a new venture.
You’ll develop your own business idea through the medium of a business plan. You’ll receive feedback on this in a way that combines theory with a practical, applied perspective.
Module learning outcomes
- Demonstrate a systematic understanding of the knowledge and techniques related to the process of identifying new entrepreneurial opportunities and developing them into business ventures.
- Demonstrate skills instrumental to starting a new business, such as opportunity recognition, market assessment and financial planning.
- Create a business plan for development and financing of new business ventures.
